![]() ![]() The hotel's breakfast was quite good as well with an assortment of buffet foods as well as a menu you could order off of. We ended up just taking taxis a few times and it was something like 15euro each way (but cheaper than renting a large car). Villa Marandi is about 10-15 minutes from Chora (aka Naxos Town) so you will want a car if you plan on going there for dinner. Some parts of the beach are rocky so I would recommend swim shoes. The villas were beautiful and the staff made sure we always had everything we needed at all times. Can't overstate how welcoming the Villa Marandi family was to us. Even after fun all day the kids just wanted to sit at the bar with Bruno and eat ice cream. Bruno, Sophia, Vicki and the all the others treated us like family. This is thought-out, careful constructed food. The breakfast buffet is ridiculously good. The food here may be some of the best we've had in Greece. They are all so great that dorky as it sounds, we were sad to say goodbye. When we go back we won't even look anywhere else. So here's the nutshell: Location - fantastic. Four of us were traveling and we all agreed, this is one of our highlights. A walk to Agrios Prokopios (beach) is a moderate 25 min walk and beach chairs cost about 10€ per chair per day. If you wanted to be able to walk into town you would likely want to stay in town but I suspect you would trade that for the wonderful amenities and space that Villa Marandi gives you. The breakfast that is included was another highlight. The water was crystal clear and had both a pebble side and a fine sand side. The beach faces Naxos town and the port for beautiful views. The beach is less than a minute walk from our room. The hotel only has about 14 rooms and there was never any difficulty getting chairs around the pool or beach umbrellas. The room we stayed in was beautiful, clean, and in brand-new condition. The clamps seems to be a stronger plastic material then what was used on the U212. This is the same mechanism that finally cracked and failed on the U212. There are two clamps on each leg that compresses the fitting that secures the leg tubing. The leg length adjustment may be an issue as the tripod ages. I can fold up the tripod in about 15 seconds and it's of a convenient size to strap onto either my backpack or shoulder bag.
